I have waited for this day to come, the day after Christmas. As a child this day made me sad understanding that Christmas was over. Through the years I have grown to realize as a believer, everyday is Christmas. There is one song that I believe reflects that, it is Come All Ye Faithful. It is a personal favorite that brings truth we should live out. The song simply states that we should come and ADORE Jesus. To adore something is not simply thinking about it. To adore something is to know it, study it, seek it, and constantly dwell upon the beauty that objects holds. Christians should do that with Jesus every day. Brothers and sisters, I challenge you and myself to be faithful to adore Jesus and remember that Christmas is not over.

The Haka
November 2nd, 2011
LaurieCook A week and a half ago I turned on the TV and watched the World Cup of Rugby championship. I happened to turn it on before the game started and it was still in the pregame show. During the pregame both teams national anthems were played and then the All Blacks from New Zealand performed the Haka. The Haka is a traditional ancestral war cry, dance or challenge from the Maori people of New Zealand (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haka). Youtube link above shows the Haka performed by New Zealand and the Kailo performed by the team from Tonga, it was not the World Cup game but it is a fun one to watch.
As I was watching this my mind started to wonder about several things. First, I was reminded of a time that I was working one of my football games and the visiting team did the Haka before the game. My team took it as a challenge and came out victorious. Then, I started to think about how doing the Haka before playing in a game would make you feel invinsible and have no fear even when facing “giants.” My mind continued to wonder and I thought about our Christian life and how we should act in our spiritual battle, and what our battle cry should be. Here are some thoughts:
- Why should we fight for victory, when we have VICTROY?
- We have full confidence in Christ
- We should have NO Fear
- We should pray
- Deuteronomy 20:4
For the LORD your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory. - Psalm 20:5
May we shout for joy over your victory and lift up our banners in the name of our God. May the LORD grant all your requests. - Psalm 20:6
Now this I know: The LORD gives victory to his anointed. He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary with the victorious power of his right hand. - Psalm 60:12
With God we will gain the victory, and he will trample down our enemies. - 1 Corinthians 15:57
But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. - Romans 8:31
[ More Than Conquerors ] What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? - 2 Timothy 1:7
For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. - 2 Chronicles 7:14
if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
So we may not have a dance to do, but we have Prayer, the Bible, the Church, and ultimatly the Lord fighting for us!!!!!!! Praise the Lord.
Good tunes
October 26th, 2011
MariannaVazquez Recently, I have been reflecting upon what is good. God has clearly shown me that He is. I can go on forever about Gods character and how His goodness is the very reason I can breathe and know there is hope; but I won’t. We should always reflect on Gods goodness, because it is just who He is. There is song by Cory Asbury tilted So Good to Me. It has become one of my favorite tunes.
I would encourage y’all to check out International House of Prayer (IHOP) it is a 24/7/365 house of prayer and worship. The organization itself has an awesome story, and tons of various musicians who perform or minister there. Cory Asbury is one of musicians along with many others. IHOP’s are international so there a plethora of music that comes from these places, and it always refreshing. To read a book about how IHOP got started read “Red Moon Rising” by Pete Grieg and Dave Roberts. So I hope y’all enjoy one of favorites and reflect upon how good God is.
